It’s the day after Thanksgiving, and we at the arts staff have already spent approximately the last two weeks being thankful for this decade in the arts. Last Thursday, we released our Retrospective issue, which looked back at the past 10 years in film, music and TV.

Those lists were compiled through preliminary voting to see what albums and movies would be in contention, then long discussion (through which all of the top 5 for both movies and music were decided) and then two separate voting blocks. It was a lot different than writers just submitting personal lists. But we definitely don’t discount such lists at all, especially since everyone’s taste is so idiosyncratic that they’re bound to be fascinating.

Thus, we now present personal lists for all our writers who chose to submit them. They are up to 25 places long, though some contain 26 or 27 choices through ties. But really, how can we be totally certain of our choices? Here are the lists that reflect what we thought in just one time, at one place, no more, no less:

  3. So, I’ve got major beef with ya’ll. You missed some essential stuff. Where’s the Frog Eyes? Where’s my Wolf Parade? Where’s my Sunset Rubdown? Or do you just hate Canada?

Good Music: It’s what’s from Canada.

  4. “Or do you just hate Canada?”

    What did you expect?

The Daily Californian. Read avocado-eating, sunglass-wearing, faux-hippie publication. Center of the world is here, dude.
