Can Creations Cover Corner of Campus

Cans decorated Lower Sproul Plaza as part of the Cal Can Creations Homecoming Week event on Tuesday September 30, 2008. Participants competed to build the most creative sculptures with the canned and non-perishable food they supplied, which will all be donated to the Alameda Food Bank. Homecoming Week events lead up to the homecoming football game this Saturday.

Cupcakes Come to Town

Attendees of the annual “How Berkeley Can You Be?” parade dressed up in costumes and designed floats for the festivities on Sunday. The parade started at 11 a.m. and lasted for about two hours. Costumes ranged from motorized cupcakes to McCain look-alikes.

Chocolatier Blue, a gourmet chocolate shop, recently opened in Berkeley at 1964 University Avenue. The shop’s two employees make about 2,000 chocolates a day from mostly fresh, local, and organic ingredients.
