Bears Prepare For NFL Combine

The NFL Combine starts tomorrow, and if you have the NFL Network, you can watch live coverage as hundreds of scouts taking notes on hundreds of NFL hopefuls as they run, jump and lift their way into a better draft spot.
Seven Cal football players received invites to Indianapolis. DeSean Jackson and Lavelle Hawkins obviously headline the group, but also attending the week-long camp is tailback Justin Forsett, tackle Mike Gibson, safety Thomas DeCoud, punter Andrew Larson and tight end Craig Stevens.
Of course, Jackson is the starling of the group, ESPN’s Todd McShay says that the diminutive wideout has the most to prove this week.
For some reason, Jackson is getting all the attention. His stats are what you can call unimpressive, but his shear physical talent is why many believe that D-Jax can be a first-round draft pick.
Forsett, in my opinion, probably has the most to gain. He won’t be the biggest running back out there, but if he can impress in a few of those drills, he can go from being a second-day draft pick to a first-day selection.
The only person, however, that can challenge Jackson for any spotlight is The Hawk. Hawkins recently chatted with members of ESPN’s SportsNation about his expectations for the combine, where he pledged to bring The Hawk dance to the pros. Hawkins is the probably the only one that can outshine Jackson this week. He may even run a faster 40. But even if The Hawk outdoes Jackson, I don’t think that there’s anyway he gets picked before D-Jax in April’s draft.
