If Cal men’s basketball coach Ben Braun doesn’t make some huge adjustments in the second half, this game could well become a blowout.
The halftime score stands at UCLA 39, Cal 25.
Looking at the stat sheet, one number stands out above all others: the Bears’ 13 turnovers. The Bruins’ defense has been stifling, and even without Kevin Love on the floor for much of the half because of two fouls, Cal was unable to get anything going.
Josh Shipp and Mbah a Moute each have 17 points while Russell Westbrook leads the way with 20. Even Lorenzo Mata has three blocks.
We’ll see what the second half brings.
